Inu seeks home minister’s interference over attacks on journalists
DHAKA, Aug 7, 2018 (BSS) – Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, MP,
today sought personal interference of Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan to bring
the people involved in recent attacks on journalists to justice, as soon as
possible.
“I seek your personal interference for bringing the people involved in
carrying out recent attacks on journalists to justice,” Inu said in a letter
sent to Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan.
The role of the Home Ministry in maintaining law and order was certainly
commendable, Inu said, adding “You are informed that some journalists had
come under attack in the capital recently during students’ movement demanding
safe roads. Attack on working journalists was really a matter of regret”.
It was always recognised that the present government was always aware of
ensuring the safety of working journalists, Inu wrote.
