Tagore to remain immortal thru’ his works: speakers

RANGPUR, Aug 07, 2018 (BSS) – Noted literary personalities said Biswa
Kobi Rabindranath Tagore would remain immortal through his unparallel
literary works and philosophy of the humankind.

They made the observation at a discussion organised by Rangpur
Shahittya-Sangskritik Parishad (RSSP), a cultural and literary organisation,
on Town Hall premises here on Monday night marking the 77th death anniversary
of Tagore.

President of RSSP Aftab Hossain presided over the discussion followed
by recitation of poems and self-composed poems dedicated to Tagore.

Founder of RSSP and former Head of Bengali Department of Rangpur
Carmichael College and Tagore researcher Professor Muhammad Alim Uddin
attended the function as the chief guest.

Convener of the Tagore’s death anniversary observance committee of RSSP
Principal Nazrul Islam Chand delivered welcome speech in the function
moderated by its General Secretary Sunil Sarker.

Head of the Department of Bengali of Rangpur Government College
Professor Atahar Ali Khan took part as the main discussant on the life and
literary works of Tagore.

Former President of RSSP and President of district unit of Ghatok Dalal
Nirmul Committee Dr Mofizul Islam Mantu, former RSSP President Professor
Mohammad Shah Alam and incumbent Vice-president Swattik Al Maruf participated
in the discussion.

Paying rich tribute to Tagore, the speakers said he worked multi-
dimensionally in various spheres of life, including literature, culture,
human philosophy and many other fields with firm beliefs giving these sectors
newer heights and dimensions.

The chief guest called for following the ideology and philosophy of
Tagore who has brought glittering pride for the Bengali nation through his
unparallel contribution to the fields of language, literature, culture and
human philosophy.
