Jayathama for safe digital space for youths

DHAKA, August 06, 2018 (BSS)- United Nations Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth Jayathma Wickramanayake today called for providing a cyber-safe space for youths to build eligible leadership at national and international levels.

“Leaders of all the countries have to be more cordial to establish youth’s rights and grow skilled leadership,” said Jayathama, addressing a programme at Savar marking World Youth Day.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports organised the programme at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Youth Development with State Minister for Youth and Sports Dr. Biren Sikder in the chair.

State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Meher Afroz Chumki, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Chairman of the parliamentary committee on youth and sports Zahid Ahsan Rasel, among others, addressed the programme.

Dr. Biren Sikder called upon the youths to play a pivotal role in establishing world peace and social justice.

Addressing the programme, Chumki said, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government is conducting various programmes to grow up the youths as skilled and eligible manpower.”
