AL leader Principal Mohammad Ismail passes away

CHATTOGRAM, Aug 6, 2018 (BSS)- Principal Mohammad Ismail, President of Hathajari Thana Awami League and former Upazila Parishad Chairman, died of old-age complications at his village home here this afternoon.

He was 71.

Mohammad Ismail, former principal of Fatehabad College, is survived by wife, two sons, one daughter and a host of relatives and admirers.

The elderly politician had been suffering from various complicated diseases for long.

Principal Ismail imbued with the ideology of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman when he was a student of class seven and later actively involved in student politics. He was President of Chittagong College Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) in 1968, Vice president of Chittagong district BCL in 1972 and executive member of BCL central Committee in 1973.

Principal Ismail was the president of Hathajari upazila unit Awami League for the last 21 years.

His Namaz-e-Janaza will be held on Hathajari Bara Madrasa premises at 9 tonight.

Meanwhile, Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, Minister for Environment and Forests Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud, former Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Abdul Karim, Chairman of Bangladesh Kallyan Party Major General (retd) Sayed Mohammad Abu Ibrahim, Bir Protik, former State Minister for Civil Aviation Mir Mohammad Nasiruddin and Chairman of Chattogram Zilla Parishad M A Salam condoled the death of Principal Ismail.

In separate condolence messages, they also prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family.
