DHAKA, August 6, 2018 (BSS) – Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs
Minister Anisul Huq today said if deliberate killing is proved in
investigation in road accident case, highest punishment would be death
penalty as per section 302 of the penal code.

“If it is found in investigation of road accident case that driver
deliberately made the accident, trail would be held under section 302 (of
penal code),” he told newsmen at his secretariat office here.

The minister said everyone should keep in mind that driver would not get
death penalty in any accident case. “When it will be proved as deliberate
killing, then trial will be held under section 302,” he added.

Replying to a question how the Road Transport Act 2018 would be
implemented, Huq said the act will be made functional through passing it in
the next parliament session.

The minister said the students demands have been fulfilled completely
through the passing of the act in the cabinet.

Huq said there is no scope to make any trail lengthy under the act. If
any case is considered as important, it will be sent to speedy trial
tribunal, he added.
