JS body for raising awareness to check drug abuse

DHAKA, August 5, 2018 (BSS) – The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home
Ministry today laid emphasis on raising awareness of drugs and recruiting
more manpower in the Directorate of Narcotics Control Department to make the
anti-drug campaign a success.

The decision was made at the 23th meeting of the committee held at Jatiya
Sangsad Bhaban here with its Chairman Tipu Munshi in the chair, said a press
release.

In the meeting, the committee underscored the need for recruiting RAB
(Rapid Action Battalion) personnel in the vacant posts as soon as possible.

The committee also recommended submission of money receipts earned from
passport wings of 15 abroad missions, which manage foreign aid and support
the implementation of the national development strategies through
strengthening relationships with development partners, to the home ministry
every month, added the press release.

Committee members Asaduzzaman Khan, M Mozammel Hossain, Abul Kamal Azad,
Abu Sayed Al Mahmud Swapan, Fakhrul Imam and Kamrunnahar Chowdhury attended
the meeting, among others.
