RANGPUR, Aug 05, 2018 (BSS) – Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of
Bangladesh Police for Rangpur Range Devas Bhattacharya today said the police
forces would render improved services to people of Rangpur region.

The newly appointed DIG came up with these commitments while addressing a
views-sharing meeting with civil society members held at Police Community
Hall here as the chief guest.

The district police administration organised the meeting presided over by
Superintendent of Police for Rangpur Md Mizanur Rahman.

The DIG sought cooperation of civil society members to further improve
police services for delivering the same to citizens as everyone needs police
assistance always for safely doing any activity.

“There are some vested quarters who do not like the country and its
independence and never recognise massive developments. They want to create
unstable situation through false propaganda to provoke common people and
hinder uplifts,” he said.

However, the DIG said the present government had strongly resisted
militancy with spontaneous support of common people and none could get
anything by utilising and misinterpreting religion as part of conspiracies.

Citing recent cocktail explosion in Rajshahi, telephonic conversations
of political leaders over Gazipur city elections and current student
movements, he said vested quarters might create more similar incidents and
evil designs before the next general elections.

“This is our country and we have to work for eliminating drugs, terrorism
and militancy and maintain our tradition of communal harmony for continuation
of development so that our children could grow well in congenial atmosphere,”
he said.
