DHAKA, Nov 5, 2017 (BSS) – The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) today allowed the state time till December 3 for finalizing service rules and conduct for lower court judges and issuing gazette in this regard.

“Adjourned to December 3,” said Acting Chief Justice Md Abdul Wahhab Miah as the state pleaded for four-week more time.

Earlier on October 8, the Appellate Division had allowed the state time till today for publishing the gazette.

On July 27, Law Minister Anisul Huq handed Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha the draft of the service rules.

The apex court on July 23 allowed one more week to the state for finalising and subsequently publishing the gazette on service rules and conduct for lower court judges.

Following handing over the draft, Huq had told reporters that as per rules the chief justice would go through the draft and send it to the President along with his recommendations, if any.
