Guardians urged to play role to cut school dropouts

RANGPUR, Aug 2, 2018 (BSS) – Education officials at a guardian’s rally today called upon the guardians, especially mothers, for playing their proper role in eradicating school dropouts and ensuring quality education at primary level.

They made the call at the guardians’ rally organised by the authority of Shibnagar Government Primary School on the school ground in Fulbari upazila of Dinajpur district.

With Chairman of the School Managing Committee (SMC) Khondker Mahmudul Hossain in the chair, General Secretary of Fulbari upazila Awami League Mushfiqur Rahman babul attended the occasion as the chief guest.

Shibnagar union Chairman Mamunur Rashid Chowdhury, Fulbari Upazila Primary Education Officer Hasina Bhuiyan, Assistant Upazila Primary Education Officers Atiqur Rahman and Rezaul Islam, Headmistress of the school Kawser Jahan Kakoli, addressed.

Over 200 guardians, teachers and SMC members, public representatives and elite participated in the rally arranged for eradicating school dropouts to ensure 100 percent enrollment and quality primary education.

Upazila Primary Education Officer Hasina Bhuiyan said the guardians could play the most vital role in ensuring accountability of the teachers and quality education to give stronger footage to the children at primary level.

The participating guardians expressed commitment to eradicate dropouts in the primary school by engaging all-out efforts also to improve standard and quality of education through cooperation, regular supervision and providing suggestion.

The chief guest urged the parents, teachers, SMC members and officials concerned to ensure child-friendly atmosphere in primary schools and provide time-befitting quality education to the students to make them enlightened citizens.
