BSCIC playing vital role in grassroots industrialization: Amu

DHAKA, August 2, 2018 (BSS) – Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu today said Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) has been playing a vital role to accelerate industrialization at the grassroots level since the country’s independence.

“BSCIC is closely involved with the history of the Bengali nation as it has been playing an important role to create a strong base for the large industries in the country,” he said, speaking as the chief guest at the foundation-stone laying function the new multi-storied BSCIC building at Tejgaon Industrial area in the city, said a press release.

BSCIC Chairman Mustak Hassan M Iftekhar presided over the function while Additional Secretary of the Industries Ministry and Project Director of the BSCIC Multi-storied Building Construction Project Engineer M Tofuqul Hoq, among others, were present.

Amu said BSCIC is working as the helping hand of the government to achieve the goal of the sustainable and quality industrialization.

“BSCIC has already generated around 38 lakh employments across the country. Around 10 lakh entrepreneurs of the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) have been created for BSCIC,” he added.
