No dialogue with BNP as they celebrate fake birthday: Quader

DHAKA, August 01, 2018 (BSS)- Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said the question of holding dialogue with BNP does not arise at all unless the party does not offer apology for observing fake birthday on August 15, the day of martyrdom of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rhaman.

“Possibility of holding any dialogue with BNP is bleak as it celebrates fake birthday on the day of martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu…People don’t know how many birthdays of BNP chief Begum Khaleda Zia have,” he said, speaking at a discussion at the TSC auditorium of Dhaka University.

Bangabandhu Social Welfare Parishad (BSWP) organized the discussion marking the National Mourning Day with its Vice President Md Jahir Uddin Bhuiyan in the chair.

AL Advisory Council Member Rashidul Islam, Organizing Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, BSWP General Secretary SM Bahalul Majnun Chunnu, AL Deputy Office Secretary Barrister Biplob Barua, newly elected Bangladesh Chhatra League President Rezowanul Haque Chowdhury Shovan and its General Secretary Golam Rabbani, among others, spoke on the occasion.

Quader said, “The killers had not only killed Father of the Nation Bangabandhu along with his family members, but also destroyed the spirit of Liberation War of the Bangalee nation, their progress, prosperity and the dream of a beautiful future.”

He said the bullets of the killers had killed the dream of the whole Bangalee nation on August 15, 1975 by assassinating Bangabandhu as he dreamt of building ‘Sonar Bangla’ after the supreme sacrifices made by 30 lakh martyred through an armed struggle.

After the brutal assassination of Bangabandhu the killers were not away from hatching conspiracies, he said, adding that one of the perpetrators of the killing conspiracy, Ziaur Rahman, had promulgated the hated Indemnity Act to stop the trial of the killing of Bangabandhu.
