‘1,500 more Rohingyas enter Bangladesh’

COX’S BAZAR, Nov 2, 2017 (BSS) – Amid concerns of further exodus, over 1,500 more Rohingyas intruded into Bangladesh today through Anjuman Para border of Ukhia upazila of the district fleeing from persecution in Myanmar.

The UN refugee agency UNHCR said more than 3,000 Rohingyas is waiting to enter into Bangladesh in the zero line of the border between Bangladesh and Mayanmar.

UNHCR’s spokesperson Joseph Surymani Tripura said in Cox’s Bazar – About one and a half thousand Rohingyas enter into intersection from Wednesday night to till Thursday morning.

UNHCR, IOM, are providing humanitarian assistance to infiltrators Rohingyas of and provided shelter in a new camp located in Baluchali. UNHCR official said that around 3,000 Rohingyas have gathered in the zero line on the bordering areas of for trying to enter Bangladesh.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) 34 battalion commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Manjurul Hassan Khan said that we have already informed the higher authority about Rohingas existence on zero line. After the decision of the government, action will be taken against them.
