Agreement signed to purchase 3 Dash aircraft
DHAKA, Aug 1, 2018 (BSS) – Biman Bangladesh Airlines, the national flag
carrier, today signed G2G (government-to-government) agreement with Canadian
Commercial Corporation (CCC) to purchase three Dash Q400NG series aircraft
for operating on the country’s seven domestic destinations.
Managing Director of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Mosaddek Ahmed and acting
president of the CCC Carl Marcotte inked the agreement on behalf of their
respective sides at the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry at secretariat
here.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister AKM Shajahan Kamal and Canadian High
Commissioner in Dhaka Benoit Pr‚fontaine were present on the occasion.
Bombardier Inc of Canada will deliver the three aircrafts with 74 seats
each to the Bangladesh government in three phases in 2020.
On November 15, 2016, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved
a proposal of Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry allowing Biman Bangladesh
Airlines to procure three aircraft from the Canadian firm.
