Dr Mubashar wins Global Research Forum Award

DHAKA, July 31, 2018 (BSS) – Dr Mubashar Hasan, an assistant professor of the Department of Political Science and Sociology at North South University, was conferred with a prestigious early career researcher award today at the 11th Global Studies Conference held in Spain.

The US-based Common Ground Research Network (CGRN) and the University of Granada, Spain, jointly organised the conference at the University of Granada, according to a press release received here.

As part of the recognition, Mubashar, currently pursuing a post-doctoral fellowship at the Department of Culture Studies and Oriental Languages at the University of Oslo, Norway, was invited to chair four sessions at the conference on July 30.

Academicians from over 30 countries, including South Africa, France, the United States, Russia, Panama, Spain and India, presented research papers at the sessions.

“We have assessed several accomplishments of Dr Mubashar Hasan before awarding early career researcher award to him. This award of certificate acknowledges Mubashar’s excellent research and publication record from some of the world’s leading academic publishing houses and his deep commitment to advance research and knowledge,” said Dr Phillip Kalantiz-Cope, the Chief Social Scientist at the CGRN.

He is a promising early career researcher who deserves recognition in this prestigious global forum participated by some of the world’s leading thinkers, Cope said.

Expressing happiness over getting the prestigious early career researcher award, Mubashar said: “It was a great honour to represent Bangladesh in this global forum”.
