DHAKA, July 31, 2018 (BSS) – Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal today said that those who were responsible for the road accident that killed two students in the city would be exposed to stern punitive actions.

“The government will take stern action against those who will be found guilty,” he told newsmen after visiting the house of one of the dead students — Dia Khanam Meem – and talked to her family members at Mohakhali area.

“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed her deep shock at the death of the students and instructed me to visit Meem’s house,” he said.

Kamal expressed his deep shock at the death of Meem and said that the persons’ responsible for the accident would be brought to book.

Replying to a query, the minister said that the primary investigation confirmed that there was a mechanical fault of the bus, adding that it is being investigated whether the bus maintained route permit or its driver had valid license.

The law enforcement agencies, he said, have been instructed to ensure punishment to those who were responsible for the road accident.

The students were killed in a road accident in front of Kurmitola General Hospital on Sunday afternoon when a passenger bus ‘Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan’ crashed them and wounded 12 others.
