New committee of BFUJ takes over charge

DHAKA, July 31, 2018 (BSS) – The new executive committee of Bangladesh
Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) on Tuesday took over charge at National
Press Club here.

Outgoing president Monjurul Ahsan Bulbul and secretary general Omar Faruque
handed over the charge to the newly elected president Molla Jalal and
secretary general Shaban Mahmud at a joint meeting held on the occasion.

At the first part of the meeting, the activities of the outgoing committee
and pending matters were informed to the new committee. In the second part,
journalist leaders spoke about their goals.

National Press Club general secretary Farida Yasmin, BFUJ vice-presidents
Ishtiaq Reza and Reaj Haider Chowdhury, treasurer Dwip Azad and outgoing
treasurer Madhusudan Mondal, executive members Nure Jannat Akter Sima and
Khairuzzaman Kamal spoke on the occasion, among others.

After taking the charge, the new committee held its first meeting and
decided to pay homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur
Rahman by placing wreaths at his mausoleum at Tungipara tomorrow.
