DHAKA, July 31,2018 (BSS) – The High Court (HC) today ordered to form a 15-member national expert committee to conduct survey on vehicle fitness across the country.
A High Court division bench comprising Justice Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury and Justice Md. Ashraful Kamal passed the order, asking home secretary, transport secretary and BRTA chairman to submit survey report of that expert committee within three months.
The court came up with the order after holding hearing on a writ filed in this regard.
The court also issued a rule asking as to why it shall not pass order to stop plying of unfit vehicles and why the inaction of the defendants in monitoring and ensuring fitness of the vehicles shall not be declared illegal.
