DHAKA, July 31, 2018 (BSS) – Social Welfare Minister and Workers’ Party
of Bangladesh President Rashed Khan Menon today said BNP tried to put Awami
League mayoral candidates in offside trap in the three city corporation polls
held yesterday.

“BNP candidates without appointing polling agents for them or making them
to come out of polling centres, campaigned that they were thrown out and fake
vote casting was taking place in their absence,” Menon said.

The minister said these while addressing a discussion of Workers’ Party
of Bangladesh held at his official resident at capital’s Mintoo Road this
morning.

“BNP candidate Mojibur Rahman Sarwar in Barisal had lost the elections
before the balloting even started. He or his men didn’t supply voter slips to
the doorsteps of the voters. He didn’t even know his own voter number,” he
said, adding In Rajshahi, the BNP candidate spent the whole day sitting on an
open ground outside the polling centre.

Workers’ Party of Bangladesh polite bureau member Kamrul Ahsan, Dhaka
city unit president Abul Hossain and general secretary Kishor Roy were
present on the occasion, among others.
