Amu for strengthening initiatives for manufacturing small machineries

DHAKA, July 30, 2018 (BSS) – Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu today urged the officials of Bangladesh Industrial and Technical Assistance Centre (BITAC) to strengthen initiatives for manufacturing small machineries for
country’s factories to reduce dependency on import of these types of tools.

“Although the Bangladesh Industrial and Technical Assistance Centre is helping in industrialization through manufacturing retail machineries in cheap rate since its inception, but it has no effective publicity in this
regard,” he said at a discussion at the BITAC auditorium in the city.

Alongside inventing new machineries and technologies, Amu also laid emphasize on publicity to increase commercial use of these tools.

BITAC organised the discussion marking its achievement of Public Administration Award-2018 with its Director General Md Mafizur Rahman in the chair, said an official release.

Industries Secretary Muhammad Abdullah addressed the discussion as the special guest while BITAC Director Syed Md Ihsanul Karim addressed it, among others.

The BITAC was awarded the Public Administration Award-2018 for inventing a special designed hydraulic lift at a low cost for the people with disabilities.
