Public servants to compete for delivering good works; Kamal

DHAKA, July 30, 2018 (BSS) – Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal today said that the public servants would have to compete for delivering good and quality works to people to yield better outcomes.

“If there is competition for good works, then our country will move ahead and good governance will be ensured in all fields,” he said.

The Planning Minister said this while addressing the “Integrity Award Distribution Ceremony-2018” held at the NEC Auditorium in the city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area.

He distributed the Integrity Award bearing a certificate and a cheque equaling to the basic salary of a month to 15 best performing officers of various Divisions under the Ministry of Planning at the function.

The awardees were selected based on their highest marks (out of 100 in 19 categories) including their work efficiency, honesty and having mindset for rendering public services for the year 2017. The award is being given to motivate the public servants in building ‘Sonar Bangla’.

Chaired by Planning Division Secretary M Ziaul Islam, other members of the Planning Commission, Director General of Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) KAS Murshid, Director General for the National Academy for Planning and Development (NAPD) Kamal Uddin Talukder and other officials were present.
