Tokyo shares edge down on company earnings reports
TOKYO, July 30, 2018 (BSS/Xinhua) – Tokyo shares edged down Monday morning
on flat earnings reports of Japanese firms late last week.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average shed 125.05 points, or 0.55 percent,
from Friday to 22,587.70.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock
Exchange was down 4.90 points, or 0.28 percent, at 1,770.86.
Decliners were led by pharmaceutical, electric power and gas, and service
issues.
