Islamic scholars in Ctg to wage anti-drug, militancy campaign
CHATTAGRAM, July 29, 2018 (BSS) – Islamic scholars and leaders in the port city today formed a 31-member committee to wage a social campaign against militancy and drug abuse calling the menaces as threats for the nation as well as international community.
Named after much lamented spiritual leader of the region Syed Moinuddin Ahmed Maizbhandari, the Moinia Olama-Mashaekh Forum is to spearhead the campaign to instill into the youths the spirituality so that they were not exposed to clutches of militancy and drug.
“Both the militancy and drug are threats to national and global security and peace,” incumbent leader of Islamic spiritual hub of Maizbhandar Syed Saifuddin Ahmed told the launching of the forum as the chief guest at Chattogram District Council Auditorium.
Being the spiritual conscience of society the Islamic scholars and leaders must play a pioneering role in sensitizing all particularly the youths against militancy and drug.
The forum was constituted with Maulana Mufty Baki Billah as its convenor.
