Mujibul for using security equipment compulsory for labourers
DHAKA, July 28, 2018 (BSS)- State Minister for Labour and Employment Md Mujibul Haque today said the uses of security equipment should be made compulsory for the labourers who are working in ship-breaking industry as well as all other risky industrial units.
The minister made the comment while addressing a workshop on the implementation of the “Child Labour Elimination Policy and Domestic Worker Protecting and Welfare of Policy 2015” at the seminar room of Chattogram Club.
Director General of the Department of Factory Inspection Md Shamsuzzaman Bhuiyan and Additional Secretary of the Labour and Employment Ministry Khandaker Mostan Hossain, among others, addressed the workshop with Additional Divisional Commissioner Shankar Ranjan Shah in the chair.
Haque said the government is campaigning across the country to create mass awareness to eliminate child labour by 2025 for implementing of SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).
Besides, a policy to protect domestic workers has been formulated and now the government will make an act in this regard, he added.
He urged the countrymen to change their mindset for eliminating child labour from the all risky work places.
