DCs asked to render digitized land-related services

DHAKA, July 26, 2018 (BSS) – Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sherif today asked the deputy commissioners (DCs) to ensure digitized and people-friendly land-related services for the people.

He underlined the need for ensuring land-related services to the people to help materialize the Vision-2021 and Vision-2041 of the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Sherif told this to newsmen after the last session of the third and final day of the DC conference at the Secretariat.

The minister said DCs ehave been instructed to identify those who possess the land beyond the highest ceiling and take steps to bring the land under ‘Khas Kotian’.

In many places of the country there are many land owners who are possessing land violating the provisions of the non-agricultural khas land, agricultural land khas, land management policy, P.O.96/72 and Land Reform Ordinance, 1984, he told newsmen after the last session of the third and final day of the DC conference at the Secretariat.

Chaired by Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam, the land ministry discussed various issues, including digital land management, with DCs.

He advised the deputy commissioners to take appropriate measures to ensure the appeal within the stipulated time after the verdict of the Vested Property Return Tribunal, so that the government would not lose the valuable land under ‘Ka’ schedule.

He urged all DCs to perform their duties with responsibility and accountability.

The minister, however, instructed the deputy commissioners to ensure land related service aimed at materializing the government;s Vision 2021 led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and building developed Bangladesh by 2041.
