DHAKA, July 26, 2018 (BSS) – Jatiya Party Secretary General ABM Ruhul Amin Haowlader today said the Indian government and people want to strengthen further the existing excellent relations with Bangladesh.
“At the same time, the leaders of Indian government also expect that the peaceful environment and democracy will be continuing in Bangladesh,” he said at a press conference at JP chairman’s office in Banani in the capital following a three-day visit to India.
A five-member delegation led by JP Chairman Hussain Muhammad Ershad visited India from July 22 to 25.
Haowlader said, during the visit, the delegation held meetings with Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj and Defence Advisor Ajit Doval.
He said the Indian leaders have praised the active role of JP to protect democracy in Bangladesh and they hoped that the party would also work for the well-being of the common people in the future too.
The JP secretary general hoped that India will maintain good relations with Jatiya Party in future.
JP Co-Chairman GM Kader, Presidium Member Zia Uddin Ahmed Bablu, Sunil Shuva Roy, Major (Retd) Md Khaled Akther, Masud Parvej Sohel Rana and SM Faisal, among others, were present in the press briefing.
