Nasim inaugurates 4 emergency OT’s at DMCH
DHAKA, July 25, 2018 (BSS) – Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim today inaugurated four emergency operation theaters (OTs) and modern equipment for Surgical High Dependency Unit (HDU) and Transfusion Medicine Department at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
The minister during the time urged the hospital authority to further develop the standard of service at hospital’s emergency department.
“Just launching of new equipments will not do any good, we have to develop the standard of the service as well,” Nasim said.
The hospital authority said with the inauguration of four emergency operation theaters, they will be able to serve the patients of orthopedics, general surgery, thoracic surgery, urology, neurosurgery, ENT, eye, maxillofacial surgery and paediatric surgery departments 24/7.
The minister asked the hospital authorities to keep the number of attendants in the hospital low, saying only one attendant will be allowed for each patients admitted to the hospital.
Health Education and Family Welfare Secretary GM Saleh Uddin, Director General of Directorate General of Health Services Prof Abul Kalam Azad, Bangladesh Medical Association president Dr Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin, DMCH Principal Prof Dr Khan Abul Kalam Azad and DMCH Director Brigadier AKM Nasir Uddin were present on the occasion, among others.
