First report on coal disappearance submitted

DHAKA, July 25, 2018 (BSS) -The first investigation report on much talked-
about disappearance of coal from Barapukuria Coal Mining Company Limited
(BCMCL) was submitted to the ministry today.

After receiving the report State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral
Resources said the government would scrutinize the report and take necessary
action against people responsible for the offense.

He said, “I could not read the report yet. The action will be taken against
the people responsible for it.”

Petrobangla formed the probe committee headed by Director (operation and
mine) Engineer M Kamruzzaman following the recent disappearance of 1,42,000
tonnes of coal from Barapukuria coal mine, which forced shut down of the
coal-based Barapukuria Power Plant on Sunday.
