645 homeless and landless families get houses in Mymensingh

MYMENSINGH, June 20, 2021 (BSS) – A total of 645 landless and homeless families of 13 upazilas have got their new houses today as a gift from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the distribution of tin-shed pucca houses on two decimals of land free of cost under the second phase of the Asrayan-2 project on virtual platform joining from her official Ganabhaban residence in the capital this morning across the country.

State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid handed over the documents regarding the ownership of the houses and other papers to 50 homeless and landless families at a function at Shahid Hazrat Ali auditorium of Muktagachha upazila parishad this morning after inaugurating the countrywide programme.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abdullah AL Mansur, chairman of the upazila parishad (in-charge) Alhaj Arab Ali, vice chairman Kakali Begum and senior vice president of the upazila Awami League Azizul Haque, among others, were present.

Deputy Commissioner Md Enamul Haque also handed over the documents regarding the ownership of the houses and other papers to 75 landless and homeless families at a function at Sadar upazila parishad auditorium this morning.

Police super Ahamaruzzaman, Zila parishad chairman Yusuf Khan Pathan, UNO Saiful Islam, president of city Awami League Eahtashemul Alam, general secretary of the district Awami League Advocate Muazzem Hossen and chairman of Sadar upazila parishad Ashraf Hossen, among others, were present.

Besides, all upazila parishads arranged the programme and handed over the documents regarding the ownership of the houses and other papers to the enlisted homeless and landless families.
