DHAKA, July 24, 2018 (BSS) – State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral
Resources Nasrul Hamid today said deputy commissioners (DCs) can contribute
to the country’s development by taking coordinated plan.

“If we work with proper plans, it is possible to build the country as a
developed one by providing modern facilities in every district,” he said
while addressing a session on the first day of the three-day DC conference at
the Secretariat.

Noting that priority should be given on the implementation of Vision-
2021 and Vision-2041, the state minister urged all DCs to ensure security to
the public establishments, saying that about 2,000 acres of khas land is
required for setting up solar park.

“People have been facing temporary power shortage in Rangpur region as
Barapukuria thermal power plant suspended its generation,” he said.

During the discussion, Nasrul said DCs should give attention on three-
wheeler charging stations. “If electric vehicles are launched in the country,
two billion dollars would be saved from energy sector,” he said.

Prime Minister’s energy advisor Dr Towfiq-e-Elahi was present at the
discussion.
