One lakh children engaged in risky works to be rehabilitated: Mujibul
DHAKA, July 24, 2018 (BSS) – State Minister for Labour and Employment Md
Mujibul Haque today said a total of one lakh children engaged in hazardous
works were identified for rehabilitation under a child labour elimination
project.
The rehabilitation process will begin in September or October next, he
said while addressing the second session of the three-day Deputy
Commissionaires (DCs) conference at the Secretariat here.
He urged the DCs to monitor the security and compliance of factories in
their respective districts.
Stressing the need for creating public awareness to eliminate hazardous
child labour, Mujibul said the government is committed to eliminate hazardous
child labour and the DCs can play an important role at field level in this
regard.
He also urged the DCs to prepare lists of children engaged in hazardous
works in their respective districts and send the lists to the ministry.
