Govt prepared to face any natural disaster: Shah Kamal

DHAKA, July 24, 2018 (BSS) – Disaster Management and Relief secretary Md
Shah Kamal today said the government has taken all-out preparation to face
any natural disaster during the ongoing rainy season.

He said this while addressing the second session of the three-day Deputy
Commissioners (DCs) conference at the Secretariat here.

Shah Kamal asked the DCs to get ready to face any possible natural
disaster, including flood, during the rainy season.

Precautionary measures have been taken in eight northern districts to
address floods, Kamal said, informing that special allocation and relief have
been given to the victims of natural disasters in the districts.

He said special committees on disaster management have been formed in all
districts.

The process of relocating Rohingyas to Bhashan Char in Noakhali from
Cox’s Bazar will begin in the next September or October, the secretary said,
adding that the construction of infrastructure at Bhashan Char is underway.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the three-
day DC conference in the capital.
