DHAKA, July 24, 2018 (BSS) – Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel
Haque today urged Deputy Commissioners (DCs) to accelerate the land
acquisition works to build ‘Liberation Memorials’ at upazila and district
levels.
The minister came up with the call while addressing the second session of
the three-day DC conference at the Secretariat here.
He also asked the DCs to properly distribute freedom fighters’ allowances
through mobile banking.
Stressing the need for giving special emphasis on the rights of the
families of liberation war martyrs and their successors, Mozammel called upon
the DCs to be more active in preserving the memories of the country’s
Liberation War.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the three-day
DC conference in the capital.
