RANGPUR, July 22, 2018 (BSS)-Three passengers of a battery-run auto-
rickshaw were killed and three others injured in a road accident at Hajirhat
Monthona point on the Dhaka-Thakurgaon highway in the city today.
Police and hospital sources said the accident occurred when a Thakurgaon
bound night coach of Hanif Paribahan from Dhaka hit the auto-rickshaw killing
two persons on the spot and injuring four others at 7 am.
Being informed, police rushed to the spot, rescued the injured persons and
sent them to Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH) where another injured
person succumbed to his injuries at 10 am.
Condition of another injured person is very critical, the sources said.
Two of the deceased auto-rickshaw passengers were identified as Shaju
Mian, 35, and Chan Mian, 30, of village Uttar Singergari under Kishoreganj
upazila of Nilphamari district.
The identity of another deceased auto-rickshaw passenger could be known
immediately.
