CHATTOGRAM, May 12, 2021 (BSS) – A court here granted five day remand to interrogate former Superintendent of Police (SP) Babul Akter over his alleged involvement with the murder of his wife Mahmuda Akter Mitu.

Earlier, Mitu’s father, former police inspector Mosharraf Hossain, filed a new case against Babul and seven others with Panchlaish police station on Wednesday over his daughter’s killing after the PBI said they had found involvement of Babul Akter with the killing.

Metropolitan Magistrate Sarowar Jahan passed the order after Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) produced Babul before the court with a seven-day remand prayer.

Following the hearing, the magistrate granted him five day remand, Advocate Arifur Rahman, lawyer of Babul Akter, told journalists.
