KUSHTIA, May 6, 2021 (BSS) – Awami League joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif, MP, today said that Begum Khaleda Zia is a convicted prisoner, not an accused, so her medicare facilities will be provided as per the decision of court and jail authorities.
He told reporters before distribution of relief goods among about 3,000 people in ward no. 1 of Kushtia Municipality and thousands of people in six unions under Sadar Upazila at the Kushtia Mohin Mill ground this morning.
Hanif said that if the physicians of Khaleda Zia think that she should be taken elsewhere for better treatment, then it should be done in accordance with the decision of the court and jail authorities.
About a recent comment of BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on coronavirus situation, Hanif said that the BNP has been criticizing in various ways since the break out of the lethal virus.
But Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been managing this crisis very successfully with the opinion of the country’s expert doctors.
