Speaker will visit Pirganj tomorrow
RANGPUR, July 21, 2018 (BSS) – Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury will arrive in Pirganj tomorrow on a two-day visit in the district, official sources said.
The Speaker will arrive in Pirganj by road at noon from the capital city and will take part in a number of programmes on Sunday and Monday at Pirganj and Rangpur city.
On Sunday afternoon, the Speaker will inaugurate construction works of the advanced calf breeding centre ‘Bull-calf Rearing Unit cum Minilab’, inaugurate the ‘Dr MA Wazed Miah Gold Cup Football Tournament-2018’ and ‘Three-day Fruit Tree Fair-2018′ at different venues in Pirganj municipal town as the chief guest.
On Monday, the Speaker will distribute sewing machines free of costs to the poor and distressed women in a function to be held at Rangpur Zila Parisahd Community Centre in Rangpur city in the morning as the chief guest.
In the afternoon, Dr Chaudhury will attended a mothers’ rally at Rasulpur Mahtabiya Bilateral High School and distribute corrugated iron sheets and cash money to hailstorm-affected families at Baro Alampur High School in Pirganj upazila as the chief guest.
Talking to BSS, General Secretary of Pirganj upazila Awami League and Mayor of Pirganj municipality Tazimul Islam Shamim and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Kamal Kumar Ghosh said all preparations were completed to make the Speaker’s visit successful.
