DHAKA, July 19, 2018 (BSS)- President of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JASHOD) and Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu said today that the people have to decide, once and for all, whether Bangladesh would adopt the path of militancy and become another Pakistan or Afghanistan or it will remain a peaceful, developed-oriented country, as it has been over the last decade or so.

The minister was speaking at a public meeting at Mirpur 1 in the capital.

He said “BNP and its allies must explicate what they want: election or anarchy?”

He further said making an illogical and illegal demand like release of Khaleda Zia a precondition for electoral participation was merely an excuse to disrupt the poll.

Inu said that whatever hindrance is set on the way the government was determined to cleanse the society of militancy and drugs.

“Drugs destroy lives, families and society. It will be met with the same determination and vehemence as militancy,” he said.

The meeting was also addressed by JASHOD general secretary Shirin Akhter, MP and other city and local leaders of the party.
