RANGPUR, April 15, 2021 (BSS) – A total of 92,111 citizens got the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine with inoculation of 17,183 more people today with the second dose of the jabs in Rangpur division.
Health officials said the 17,183 citizens, who were inoculated with the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccines today, include 11,525 male and 5,658 female, of all eight districts in the division.
“The total of 92,111 second dose recipient citizens, including 63,905 male and 28,206 female of the division, previously got the first dose at least two months ago,” Divisional Director (Health) Dr Md Ahad Ali told BSS today.
The district-wise break-up of the second dose recipient 92,111 citizens stands at 17,121 in Rangpur, 10,743 in Panchagarh, 13,310 in Nilphamari, 5,757 in Lalmonirhat, 8,194 in Kurigram, 8,906 in Thakurgaon, 18,939 in Dinajpur and 9,141 in Gaibandha.
“Meanwhile, a total 1,006 citizens, including 604 male and 402 female, were vaccinated with the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine today in the division,” Dr Ali said.
The total number of citizens who got the first dose of the vaccine now rose to 5,84,241, including 3,50,348 male and 2,33,863 female, with inoculation of more 1,006 people today in the division.
The district-wise break-up of the first dose recipient 5,84,241 citizens stands at 1,66,728 in Rangpur, 43,366 in Panchagarh, 74,680 in Nilphamari, 36,709 in Lalmonirhat, 45,454 in Kurigram, 48,279 in Thakurgaon, 1,07,710 in Dinajpur and 61,315 in Gaibandha.
After taking the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RpMCH) vaccination centre today, housewife Khaleda Yasmin of Keranipara in Rangpur city said she was feeling quite normal without side effects.
Professor Dr Gazi Mazharul Anwar of Begum Rokeya University with his wife and Senior Reporter of BSS Md Mamun Islam also took the second dose of the jabs today at RpMCH.
“Like my wife, I am feeling normal without any side effects,” said Professor Anwar and thanked the RpMCH authorities for conducting the first and second dose of the vaccination programme simultaneously in an orderly manner.
Chief of Divisional Coronavirus Service and Prevention Task Force and Principal of RpMC Professor Dr. AKM Nurunnobi Lyzu said vaccination of registered citizens with the first and second doses of the jabs are continuing smoothly in Rangpur division
“Everyone must abide by the health directives and wear masks while remaining outside even after taking the first and second doses of the jabs to remain safe and contribute to containing the rapidly rising coronavirus infection in the division,” Dr Lyzu added.
