DHAKA, April 14, 2021 (BSS) – Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister M Tajul Islam today instructed all the city WASA officials including the Dhaka WASA to supply adequate water during the Ramadan.

The minister gave the instruction while addressing a virtual view exchange meeting with the high officials of WASA and the concerned minister from his official Mintoo road residence here.

“WASA must have to take necessary steps so that the people can get adequate drinking water during the Iftar and Sehri in the Ramadan. The water supply anyhow would have to be made trouble-free,” the minister said.

In the past, 60 percent water supply was not possible in other cities including the capital, now nearly 100 percent quality water is being supplied not only in the city but also across the country, the minister added.

Nowadays, there is no water crisis in the country as all the WASA’s including Dhaka, Rajshahi have taken big water development projects considering the future demand of water across the country.

Special initiatives have already been taken by the WASA during the Ramadan and the corona pandemic time, informed WASA managing director to the minister during the meeting.

“People would not be deprived from the service provided by the WASA,” said the minster lauding the initiatives taken by the WASA.
