2400 farmers get incentives for Aus farming in Netrakona

NETRAKONA, April 14, 2021 (BSS) – A total of 2400 small and marginal farmers of the district were given agriculture incentives in terms of Aus seed and fertilizers by the government at free of cost for boosting Aus cultivation during the current Kharip-1 season.

Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) office sources here said the agriculture incentives were distributed among the farmers under the government’s agriculture incentive distribution program to inspire them to cultivate Aus paddy and boosting the crop’s production.

Each of the farmers got five kilograms of improved quality Aus seed, 20 kilograms of DAP fertilizer and 10 kilograms of MOP fertilizer, deputy director of DAE Netrakona Habibur Rahman said.

Meanwhile, a target was fixed to cultivate Aus paddy on 1,550 hectors of land in the district with a plan for producing 4,405 metric tones of Aus paddy, he added.
