DHAKA, April 10, 2021 (BSS)-Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, now in Europe, today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Director General of the Department of Environment Dr AKM Rafiq Ahmed.
In a condolence message, the minister said the dedication of Rafiq Ahmed in the civil service arena will ever be remembered.
Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary, prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Ahmed passed away at the age of 55 at a hospital in the capital early this morning.
According to family sources, he was admitted to the hospital on March 23. Later, he tested positive for COVID-19.
