DHAKA, Apr 7, 2021 (BSS) – ‘Shasyachitre Bangabandhu’, the largest portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, displayed on the crop field, has been recognized as the largest artistic work of the founding father by the Guinness book of world record.

The largest crop field mosaic has been made on some 1,19,430 square meters of a paddy field by planting seedlings of two paddy varieties supplied by the National Agri Care (NAC).

“Bangabandhu’s portrait ‘Shasyachitre Bangabandhu’ has made Guinness World Record, taking Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to a new height to the global people and particularly to the new generation,” said Mostafizur Rahman, managing director of NAC who also financed the work.

In collaboration with the NAC, a non-governmental organization, Bangabandhu Jatiya Parishad started preparations for this work on 105 bighas of land at Balenda village of Bogura’s Sherpur upazila marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation.

“This great artistic performance would not have been possible without the support of NAC team and we dedicated this achievement to all the farmers of Bangladesh,” he said.

Earlier the record was held by Shanghai Lezhidao Tourism Development Company of China after it made a crop field mosaic spanning 79,505.19 square metres in 2019, according to Guinness World Records’ website.
