parents use their child in begging.

found using their children in begging,” she said.

The government has introduced monthly allowance of Taka 500 for eight
lakh under privileged mothers, she added. Chumki was speaking as the chief
guest at a roundtable titled, ‘Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals:
Facing the challenges in ensuring child rights’ at the auditorium of Daily
Ittefaq in city’s Karwan Bazar area.

Editor of the daily Taslima Hossain presided over the programme while
Begum Jebunnesa Afroz MP, Begum Fazilatunnesa Bappi MP, senior secretary of
Planning Commission Dr SHamsul Alam, additional secretary of Labour and
Employment ministry Khandker Mostan Hossain ASD executive Director Jamil H

Chumki said it is very tough job to rehabilitate floating children as
they like to move like a vagabond but don’t like to stay in shelter home.

“We have to make united efforts so that our children get a better life,
have good character and pursue study to become worthy citizens of the country
and take the future leadership of the country,” Chumki said.
