Rally for peaceful polls held in Barishal
DHAKA, July 18, 2018 (BSS)- A citizens’ rally was held in Barishal city today stressing the importance of peaceful election with the participation of all concerned.
A total of 389 young political leaders and representatives of citizens took part in the rally which started from Ashwinikumar Town Hall and paraded different streets of the city, said a press release here.
Political leaders of Awami League, BNP and Jatiya Party took part in the rally, it said.
Former principals of Government BM College Professor Mohammad Hanif, Professor SM Imanul Karim, Professor Shah Sajeda, Barishal City BNP’s Education Affairs Secretary Advocate Parvej Akan Biplob, Awami League Barishal district unit Assistant Publicity and Publication Secretary Milan Bhuiyan and Jatiya Party Barishal unit Organizing Secretary AKM Mostafa inaugurated the rally.
Democracy International organized the rally under the campaign of ‘Shantite Bijoy’ with the financial assistant of USAID and UKAID, the release added.
