Asim sets new national record in archery
DHAKA, Apr 4, 2021 (BSS)- Bangladesh Police’s archer Asim Kumar Das has set a new national and games record in the compound men’s event archery of Bangabandhu 9th Bangladesh Games today at archery training center of Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master Stadium in Tongi.
He set the new national record scoring 704, crossing the previous record of 700 held by Sheikh Sojib.
Besides, Himu Bachar of Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan finished second scoring 687 while Sohel Rana of Dhaka Army Archery Club and Mohammad Asikuzzaman of Bangladesh Police finished in third and fourth position after scoring 684 and 683 respectively in the event.
A total of 175 men and women archers from 41 teams including different district sports associations, services associations, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan and clubs from across the country are taking part in the recurve and compound division.
