NARAYANGANJ, July 18, (BSS) Mayor Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) Dr Selina Hayat Ivy today announced a budget of Taka 715.51 crore for the fiscal 2018-2019 with a surplus budget of Taka 9 crore here this morning.
” No new tax have been imposed on city dwellers this year,” she said while announcing the annual budget at Nagar Bhaban here this morning.
She said the budget shows 41 percent increase in the revenue secctor due to good number of development projects taken up by the NCC this year.
Disclosing the sources of fund in the budget, she said, government grant of Taka 217 crore, Municipal Governance Services Project grant of Taka 205 crore, Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA) to provide Taka 145 crore, GOB block grant of Taka 40 crore and NCC own revenue fund of Taka 108 crore.
The mayor announced the annual budget at NCC premises in presence of many distinguished personalities including advocate Hosne-ara Bablee, MP, Abdul Hai, president of Narayanganj District Awamileage, and AFM Ehteshamul Haque, chief executive officer of the corporation, 27 councilors, freedom fighters, social and political workers, elite of the city and media men.
Later she gave reply to different questions from the attending guests and assured the city dwellers to ensure accountability and transparency in the implementation of the budget.
