Tanzanian biogas specialist meets DU VC
DHAKA, July 17, 2018 (BSS) – Christopher Kellner, a biogas specialist of Tanzania
called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman today at
the latter’s office of the university.
Director of the Institute of Energy of DU Prof. Dr. Saiful Huque and Assistant
Prof. Dr. S M Nasif Shams were present on the occasion.
During the meeting they discussed overall development of energy sector in
Bangladesh.
Tanzanian biogas specialist expressed his willingness to provide technical
support for construction of a biogas plant at Dhaka University.
They called for producing biogas and energy by using different types of wastes to
meet the public demand.
DU Vice-Chancellor thanked him for his visit to DU. He also urged the teachers,
students and researchers to work together for making DU campus free from waste.
Earlier, Kellner delivered a lecture in the two-day long training course on
“Design, Implementation & Performance Evaluation of Biogas Plant” at the Institute
of Energy.
