Govt declares July 25 a general holiday in Kurigram-3 constituency
DHAKA, July 17, 2018 (BSS) – The government has declared general holiday on
July 25 in Kurigram-3 constituency centering the by-election.
The seat of Kurigram-3 constituency fell vacant after the demise of Jatiya
Party parliament member AKM Maidul Islam on May 11.
Marking the election, residents of Ulipur upazila (except Saheber Alga
union) and Chilmari upazila (except Ashtamirchar and Nayarhat union) will
enjoy the holiday, an official release said.
The government declared the holiday on July 25 to enable the employees of
all government, semi-government, autonomous bodies and institutions, private
institutions, government and private educational institutions of the area to
exercise their voting rights.
However, if any public examination is scheduled on the day, examination
centers and teachers and employees concerned will remain out of this holiday
purview.
