DHAKA, July 17, 2018 (BSS)- The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed Naveed Newaz as National Under 19 team’s head coach.
Newaz will be responsible for overseeing the Bangladesh Under 19 Team programmes and will prepare the side for the ICC Under 19 Cricket World Cup 2020 in South Africa.
A former international cricketer for Sri Lanka and an accomplished first class batsman, the 44-year-old Newaz has been involved in different coaching capacities since retiring as a player in 2004.
He was Sri Lanka Under 19 head coach from 2009 to 2014 and also worked as a Batting Coach for the Sri Lanka Emerging Players Squad in 2014-15. Newaz is a Cricket Australia High Performance (Level Three) Coach.
