Quader urges all to take lessons from Bangabandhu’s life

DHAKA, Mar 21, 2021 (BSS) – Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today called upon all to take lessons from the life and works of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

“Let’s take lessons from the life of Bangabandhu. Let’s take lessons from his honesty, courage and the politics he practiced loving the country’s people,” he told a function on the fifth day of the 10-day special programme, marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of the country’s independence.

A recorded message of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign and Expatriate Minister of Jordan Ayman Safadi was played at the function, moderated by Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud.

Historian Prof Dr Syed Anwar Hossain also spoke.

Speaking on the occasion, Quader said Bangabandhu gave priority to making friends around the world after the independence apart from realising the global recognition for a new-born country.

Bangabandhu took various steps for infrastructure development and trade expansion, increasing export earnings and creating employment opportunities, he said.

Quader, also the Awami League general secretary, said the Father of the Nation had given top priority to agriculture to ensure food security.

Fourteen months after he took charge of a new-born country, he said, Bangabandhu presented a general election to the nation.

Quader said Bangabandhu laid the foundation of the all development works being carried out today in the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the elder daughter of Bangabandhu.
